Random Acts of Kindness Make Life Good!
We’re quite excited for the Random Acts of Kindness (RAoK) Day on the 17th because we’re a little more prepared for it this year. While still in our initial stages as a business, we’ve grown and are fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to create several new designs for the social holiday. One iterates how the act of helping others is rewarding to you personally and the other simply states, “Random Acts of Kindness Make Life Good!” It doesn’t get any clearer than that.
We hope that these designs on this apparel reaches a fresh set of eyes…someone who hasn’t been so exposed to our calls to action and someone who could really stand to see positive messages like these. For that to happen, we need to get the shirts out there! Buying our products is great because a portion of the profit will go to organizations that make life good and the message you invested in will probably mean something to you personally; but, if you make sure to wear that shirt or sweatshirt out and about, the potential GOOD you could do is so much greater.
Our products are eye-catching because we want these messages to be seen! You can feel good about being an MLG ambassador on National RAoK Day because the purchase you will have made will find its way back to a business that does good for others. You can wear that smile proudly because the design you’ll be modeling will put a smile on someone else’s face—and ideally push them to put a smile on another person’s face.
Fair warning: you might be approached or questioned about your product! Whether it’s your bag or your bracelet, people will wonder what Make Life Good is all about and why you invested in us. This is an opportunity to make a true connection and communicate honestly. We could use more of that nowadays.
Lead the charge this RAoK Day and do so sporting a Make Life Good product. We want the positive influence you’ll have on others to be as great as can be. Share your random acts of kindness with us. We’d love to see what you come up with. We can always use a little more inspiration.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - The Voice of Equality
During the Civil Rights movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. became the voice of equality for African Americans. There were many representatives during this movement, among the most memorable being Rosa Parks and Malcolm X, who all in their own ways, through their actions and words, led a non-violent movement for the benefit of all people in the U.S.
We realize the goal of Dr. King and the Civil Rights movement was to promote and realize equity of all minority groups—but it did so much more. People were forced to open up their minds, putting themselves in the position of the oppressed. They were forced to open their hearts, seeing beyond skin color and to the content of their character. This is an outcome Dr. King surely strived for.
However, we have seen times both in the United States and abroad that contradict and compromise all that Dr. King and his predecessors fought for. President Obama, in his recent State of the Union address encouraged and challenged citizens of this country to voice our opinions and identify ourselves as people of one nation of truth and unconditional love.
We at The Make Life Good Company think that we can all be and do better. Soon we will have products available that represent this thought as well as one that illustrates Dr. King's messages.Let's all remember Dr. King's contributions to our society this upcoming Martin Luther King Day holiday and thorughout the year.

Man’s Best Friend
As we strive to “Remind, Encourage and Inspire” others to make life good for people in every possible way, my thoughts turn to one of my favorite subjects: Man’s Best Friend.
We’re lucky here at The Make Life Good Company. As we scan the globe, the Internet, and even our own web site and social media channels, we discover the ways that people not only make life good for people, but for animals as well. We see the cruel ways in which people disregard animal life, and then we discover the ways that heroes emerge each day to combat the evil in our world.
Here are some of those ways:
- In Providence, RI, an animal was believed to have been thrown from an automobile and killed. But we see organizations like the SPCA around to pursue justice and to offer rewards for information leading to the prosecution of the perpetrators. Fortunately, the SPCA determined that the dog was killed beforehand, and was not thrown from a car. But without agencies like the SPCA, one less voice would be heard in support of animals.
- At the University of Rhode Island we see students committed to training dogs for the future benefit of others who need special assistance. These students went to URI in some cases because of the freedom they were afforded to make this a part of not only their curriculum, but their lives. Check out the “Puppy Raisers Club” at URI.
- Service dogs are also regularly featured on the Today Show (“Wrangler”) to raise awareness about the importance of Service Animals to those in need of assistance at home. This has to inspire others to become involved in this worthwhile endeavor.
- Want to really raise the bar of preserving animal life? It was divulged at the Westminster Kennel Dog Show in NYC that one concerned group of lovers of animal life actually saved a breed from extinction! Can the love and values about the importance of animal life be expressed any more deeply than this?
That’s it for now. We hope that this blog helps to “remind, encourage and inspire” you to make life good for others – and dogs and other pets. Adopt a dog (or other pet) today. Let us know if we can help!

Make Life Good for Others During This Season of Giving
We support many different causes and send out many different messages (we’ve got a lot to say). One of our favorite messages is “Give.” What better time to talk about giving than this holiday season.
With all the gift giving and festivities around this time, most people interpret the message “give” as giving gifts, or even donating. Giving, though, can mean so much more. Instead of donating a toy, you can donate your time. Instead of giving something store bought, you can give something more unique and meaningful. Give a lesson to a family member or friend and teach them something worthwhile.
Giving is so popular nowadays and doesn’t show signs of going away. Just look at the overwhelming response we had for Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1st. We’re caught up in the spirit of giving ourselves and have some plans in the works for the very near future. Continue to check in, we’ll share news of our plans as soon as we can!
“Give” is a message and idea we’re committed to year-round. It can make such a difference in someone else’s life and that’s what it’s all about for us…making life good.
So we encourage you to let yourself get swept up in the holiday spirit and give. And we challenge you to keep on giving well past the end of the holiday season. The gift of giving itself is one we can offer each and every day.
Give thanks.
Give someone a second chance.
Give someone a helping hand.

Official Launch of the Make Life Good website!
It is incredibly fitting that we are officially launching our website around the holiday season as we have much to be thankful for: our families, our friends, and those who support us and our mission to Make Life Good for others. We can’t be happier to be in the position we’re in where we have the opportunity to now spread the word through our own messages in addition to the stories from the wonderful people out there doing the same. It’s no secret we are living in a tumultuous time, where people are weary, scared, and heartbroken about the recent horrific events in Paris, Mali, Kenya, Syria, and other places around the world. And while our company and a great many around the world mourn for those whose lives we’ve lost, there are more stories of forgiveness, bravery, unity and resolve expressed every day. It’s sometimes forgotten how love and the power of the human spirit bond us together and how people of all walks of life encourage and inspire one another to move on through such difficult circumstances.Once again, we’d like to thank you all for your support. In difficult times we feel it’s important to be there for one another and we hope, through our messages and through stories from people around the world, we can aid in the healing and create awareness of issues that persist. We appreciate you taking the time to read our new post on our new website. We will be posting on a weekly basis and we look forward to connecting with you all soon!
